![]() That way user-id's and passwords would never be exposed. ![]() It would be much better to write it as simple PHP and substitute the user-id/password at run time, either from session variables in the parent CMS or via a data base lookup. I'm not suggesting that anyone use the code as is. Modifying the site, user-id and password values and inserting the HTML on the parent site will bring up webtrees in another tab, fully logged in as the user identified in the code. The attached file demonstrates how to do this with HTML and a simple button. It turned out to be quite simple as it was just a matter of issuing an HTTP POST with the correct values. But the problem was automatically linking from my family web site on Weebly (where users had already authenticated themselves) into webtrees without make user log in again. I had used PHPGedView in the past to build the genealogical details but decided to upgrade to webtrees and have been happy with it so far. ![]() (I'm using Galler圓 and can thoroughly recommend it.) However I needed to link to a specialised genealogical package and also a photo gallery. After having looked at and/or used Joomla, Drupal and others I selected Weebly and have been very happy with its ease of use. I have a family web site that it much more than genealogy as it includes family movies (downloadable and viewable online), large amount of documents, discussion groups, family calendar of (non genealogical) events, contact details (such as links to skype and email) and a very large number of photographs which we didn't want on Facebook with its very poor record of privacy.īecause of the variety of information types I decided to use a CMS even although I had built PHP and Java/Tomcat web sites in the past (too much effort). I've noticed forum entries asking about linkage to webtrees from various CMS like Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress.
